The Eparchy of Saskatoon is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative individual to serve as a part-time Eparchial Coordinator of Safeguarding. Working closely with the Eparchial Safeguarding Advisory Committee, Bishop, clergy, and parish safeguarding coordinators, the coordinator oversees the implementation and administration of the Eparchy’s Safeguarding Policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track safeguarding training for clergy, parish/district coordinators, volunteers, and employees; maintain accurate safeguarding records.
- Administer compliance processes, including criminal record checks and annual documents.
- Manage and support online training modules; provide training and guidance to clergy, staff, and volunteers.
- Prepare and present reports to the Eparchial Safeguarding Advisory Committee.
- Recommend updates and improvements to the Eparchial Safeguarding Policy.
- Prepare reports as requested (e.g., for the Eparchial Pastoral Committee and Clergy Conferences).
Qualifications & Attributes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail); willingness to learn data management systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Chancery staff and volunteers.
- Commitment to Christian values and active membership in good standing within a Ukrainian Catholic parish of the Eparchy.
Working Conditions & Compensation
- Part-time position (up to 8 hours per week) with flexible scheduling.
- Based in Saskatoon, with occasional travel within the Eparchy.
- Training and ongoing support will be provided.
- Hourly wage: $19.00–$21.00, commensurate with experience.
